Optimiser is a Digital Management software and services company.

It provides a point-of-use management service for real-time measurement, monitoring and control of digital product even after it has been deployed and installed by a user. The result is a unique Web-based solution to the challenges faced by modern businesses when it comes to securing revenues and intellectual property rights over the Internet, namely:

  • Controlling an asset after it has been distributed
  • Tracking assets in the field, for point-of-use billing
  • Minimising revenue losses due to piracy
  • Proper reporting on, and audit of, eCommerce transactions

Corporate History

Optimiser, incorporated in 1996, originally provided high-level consulting and software-based modelling services to the Minerals, Oil and Gas industry. In the course of its work, it developed Optimiser Online - an application metering system - to recharge the use of its own software tools employed on client projects. Despite these tools and metering system giving the company a competitive advantage in its sector, the growth of the Internet as a business medium made it apparent that Optimiser Online - the prototype Digital Management solution - held vastly more potential long-term value than the core business.

A bold decision was taken to sell off the modelling software tools and take the company in a new strategic direction - that of Digital Management.

Digital Management is the term used by Optimiser to describe its holistic approach to managing all forms of digital media, whether software, movies, music, documents, or data files and services. Simply, the two camps of Digital Asset Management and Digital Rights Management are inextricably linked: If the Right is not recognised or cannot be enforced then, effectively, the Asset is worthless.

Over the last decade, Optimiser has developed its product to third generation by both building upon experience learned and keeping pace with the rapid evolution of Web service technologies. The company is uniquely positioned to help businesses develop Digital and Intellectual Property management strategies, as well provide a state-of-the-art Web service platform for deployment, billing and ongoing management of Digital Assets.


During this time, Optimiser has received numerous accolades, recognising its pioneering work in an extremely important emerging sector of the ICT industry. These include:

WA Inventor of the Year 2007 Finalist in the Western Australia Inventor of the Year 2007 competition.

14th WAITTA Finalist 2004 - Innovation Finalist for the 2004 Western Australia Information Technology & Telecommunication Association (WAITTA) Innovation Awards.
ANZA Technology Network A showcase presenter at the ANZA Technology Showcase Conference in Palo Alto four years running - Top 25 Finalist 2001.
PwC Acceptance of its solution by PwCs' Global User Acceptance Group, as part of a client's software application acquisition.
BT As part of its application for MSC-status, Optimiser received a report from British Telecom's BT Exact stating that its approach to Digital Management is "unique and original".
MSC-Status Company Granted MSC (Multimedia Super Corridor) status by the Malaysian government.
Federal Funding An AusIndustry Start Grant for $1m to cover a two-year Research & Development project focused on Digital Management, and selection for Austrade's New Export Programme.
