Optimiser Digital Management :: Evaluating & Demonstrating ODM Web Services
Don't bother writing your own Licensing Module. Don't waste money on expensive license-key or dongle systems.
Here you will find step-by-step instructions on what you need to demonstrate and evaluate Optimiser's Digital Management Web service.
You will then be able to sell your applications, games and modules by time, level, session, module and even features and functions - on-the-fly. Manage and control your product with Optimiser's real-time Digital Management Web service, at the point-of-use, even after your software has been distributed and installed by users.
To Gain An Overview
Simply login to the Digital Management Zone, via the login screen on the left hand side of this page, with the following credentials
- Personal ID: demo@demo
- Password: password
You will then be taken into a Vendor Namespace. Feel free to explore the Web service management interface at your leisure. We recommend you also read the Tutorials found via the link at the bottom right hand corner of every page.
To Demonstrate And Evaluate
- Make sure you have a Vendor Namespace set up in Optimiser's Digital Management Zone. If you do not have one, please contact Optimiser directly, via namespace-request@optimiser.com or call us via our Contacts page.
- Download and install the ODM Agent to the machine that you are going to use to run and demonstrate an ODM-enabled application. This is available via the Digital Management Zone, once logged in to your Namespace.
- Install an ODM-enabled application to the same machine as the
ODM Agent, if you have not already done so.
- If you need to enable your own application, you will need to download Optimiser's Digital Management Enablement Toolkit (SDK) from here (CD image file), or from the Digital Management Zone, once logged in to your Namespace. The Toolkit is fully-documented to help you integrate the APIs with your own code.
- If you want to use a demonstration ODM-enabled application provided by Optimiser, please download and install the ODM WordPad from our Website Downloads page.
- Once everything is installed, try running your application or
the ODM WordPad. You will find that a "No Contract Found" message
is returned. Contract validation is one of Optimiser's powerful
security management features. You need a contract to use an
ODM-enabled application!!! Time to get one!!!
- If you are using your own application, you will need to release a virtual Product and attach at least one zero value Contract to the Product. This Contract can then be purchased through your own Product Catalogue in your Namespace. Instructions for doing this can be found once logged in to your Namespace in the Tutorials How To Evaluate The DMZ and How To View, Create Or Modify A Product.
- If you are using the ODM Wordpad demo application, then choose Optimiser as the Vendor through the Catalogue link in your Namespace and purchase (zero value) a Contract to use the ODM WordPad.
- Your ODM-enabled application will now work according to the terms of the Contract purchased, and usage reports can be seen through the Reports links in your Namespace.
License-keys and dongles are dead. Digital Management is live!!
